A property owner’s CCTV cameras recorded the catastrophic flooding which hit Ellicott City, Maryland on May 27 after heavy rainfall.

Ron Peters’ cameras captured the flooding in the historic Main Street corridor. He had installed a US$13,000 network of cameras to keep tabs on three properties he owns there, the Baltimore Sun reported. He gave Howard County officials access to the live feeds and they used the footage to help them target specific crisis areas when the flooding hit, the newspaper reported.
