Cabinet clears 8000 cr sugar package to support sugarcane farmers which will benefit around 5cr farmers. Government is also looking at compensation of 1200 cr for sugar factories for maintaining buffer stock. Also, government is looking at incentives of 4400 cr for ethanol blending. The minimum retail price for sugar to be fixed at 29 per kg.
