Exactly a year after seven farmers had died in a police firing during protests - Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address a farmer’s rally in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh today. In a tweet the AICC President said that he would address the farmers on agrarian crisis affecting the country. The meeting gains further significance as it’s not only Rahul Gandhi’s maiden appearance in Madhya Pradesh ahead of the assembly polls but as farmers from various states including Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab are on a 10 day nationwide protest, the congress will further ammunition to corner the PM. Rahul Gandhi is also expected to meet the family members of farmers who had been killed during last year’s agitation. There was a huge row over this rally earlier as the local district administration had imposed over 19 conditions on Rahul’s visit to the area which had been relaxed later. Top leaders like PCC chief Kamal Nath & Jyotiraditya schindiya are expected to attend the rally.
