Two Dead After Landslide and Possible Explosion Destroy North Carolina House

Two people died when a landslide and possible gas explosion destroyed their home in Watauga County, North Carolina, on Wednesday, May 30.

The landslide ruptured a gas line, possibly causing the explosion, a news report said. Emergency responders worked through the night to recover the two bodies, and clean-up at the site was expected to continue through Thursday.
