Hawaii's Kilauea volcano continued to erupt as the month of May drew to a close, engulfing the island in massive clouds of smoke and ash causing air quality turned for the worse.
The video, shot on May 15, shows large plumes emerging from the volcano's Halemaumau crater. Ash clouds are reported to be rising as high as 4,500 meters into the air, according to the National Weather Service as quoted by one local news outlet.
Residents are being warned of "hazardous air quality", the same news outlet reported, as seismic activity intensifies.
