Thirteen people were killed in three gun battles in Matamoros, near the US-Mexico border on Sunday (November 3). Two of the gunfights were between gunmen and Mexican Marines. Local media reports that the first incident occurred shortly before noon on the Matamoros-Reynosa highway. Four civilian men and a civilian woman were killed.
