A flash flood emergency was issued for Ellicott City, Maryland, as water rushed down the city’s main street on Sunday, May 27. Multiple water rescues had been reported, the National Weather Service said.
This video captured by Jenny Royal shows a car floating along Frederick Road, which was submerged in water. Nearly an hour after the first alert was issued, officials said the water was receding, but people were warned to stay away from the area.
