Post the Nirav Modi-Mehul Choksi embarrassment, some respite for the banking sector. Over 2,100 companies have settled their bank dues worth Rs 83,000 crore. The move comes after the government amended the insolvency and bankruptcy code that bars promoters of companies classified as a non-performing assets from bidding for these companies.
