A man suspected of engaging in a shootout with police in Panama City, Florida, on May 22 has been found dead, according to media reports.
The filmer, who works in a bank near where the shootout took place, captured the tense moments on video. He said that the suspected shooter was a customer at his bank.
In the footage, gunfire and sirens can be heard as the eyewitness films from his position inside the bank.
Then a SWAT officer in body armor is seen rushing to the area, followed by an armored vehicle with more officers.
Later on, a bomb squad robot is seen rolling down a ramp.
“While working at my local bank today, I had no clue I would be so close to all of the action as there was a live shooter just outside my place of work,” the filmer said.
“Before we knew it, we heard gunfire and immediately turned on the intercoms at the tubes for our drive thru, so we could hear what was going on,” the filmer said.
“A lady from the SWAT team told us to immediately evacuate the branch and lock ourselves in the bank,” the filmer continued. “We watched everything unfold from the drive-thru window after that.”
“One of my co-workers is nine months pregnant and her baby is due next week, so the officers helped escort us out of the branch and into our vehicles,” the filmer added. “When we found out the shooter was one of our customers, we were all stunned. He was always very quiet and kept to himself, but never seemed capable of this. He’s a business owner and a lot of people in the community knew him from K&H Lawn Services.”
