The first artists at the Upsala Circus in Saint Petersburg were street children. This year, "the world's only circus for hooligans", according to its organisers, has won a prestigious theatrical award. The circus provides opportunities for children from orphanages, families in difficult circumstances and the disabled to develop their talents.
