President Trump on Monday made note that NASCAR does, “indeed stand for the playing of the national anthem.”

President Trump on Monday said that NASCAR does "indeed stand for the playing of the national anthem."  The comment was made as Trump welcomed NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. and his team to the White House.
"Somebody said 'maybe you shouldn't say that, it'll be controversial,' and I said, 'that's okay, NASCAR's not going to mind it at all.' Right, fellas? They don't mind it at all," Trump added.  His national-anthem reference and mention of controversy appear to have been an allusion to his frequent criticisms of NFL players who, during the anthem, kneeled in protest of police brutality. The president asserted those players were "ruining the game" and showing "total disrespect of everything that we stand for."  He encouraged fans to walk out of games where the protests took place and called upon team owners to fire all players involved.
