Lightning Strikes Seen in Pennsylvania as Storms Batter US Northeast

Several lightning strikes were seen near Warminster in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 15, as severe storms in the US Northeast left a trail of damage, power outages, and at least three people dead.

The Daily Freeman said an 11-year-old girl died in Newburgh when a tree fell on the car she was traveling in. The Hartford Courant said a man was killed in Danbury when a tree fell on his truck. A third person was killed by a falling tree in New Fairfield, Connecticut.

Also in Danbury, the Courant said, a teenager was badly injured when he was hit by the roof of a baseball dugout that was ripped off by strong winds at Henry Abbott Technical High School.
