Citroen presented the third-generation of Berlingo. The load-lugger has been launched with air bumps, contrasting colour inserts and a raised ride – all features traditionally associated with youth-centric small soft-roaders. The new Berlingo utilises PSA’s EMP2 platform, also used by the Peugeot 308. In addition to a stronger chassis, it comes with many assistance technologies such as lane-departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, auto-emergency braking between 5 and 85km/h, a trailer stability control system and intelligent high-beam headlights. Engine choice is split between the PureTech 1.2-litre petrol engine (110hp and 130hp), and the 1.5- litre turbo-diesel (75, 100 and 130hp), both either paired to a 6-speed manual or 8- speed automatic. The dashboard is an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. The market launch is scheduled for the second half of 2018.
