South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will leave for Washington on Friday for her first face-to-face meeting with her new U.S. counterpart.
Seoul's foreign ministry said Thursday that Kang and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will hold their first Seoul-Washington foreign ministers' meeting and hold a press briefing afterwards.
They will discuss the latest developments on the Korean peninsula, share the outcome of the inter-Korean summit,... and find ways for the two allies to closely cooperate ahead of the North Korea-U.S. summit.
Celebrating 65 years of their alliance, the two officials will also reaffirm their iron-clad ties.
