It’s a massive design flaw in the Sprinters and Crafters, the black trim around the entire outside of the van is clipped into place, with a hole keeping the clip in place. This hole goes straight through the van wall into the inside of the van, which allows water to actually get inside and potentially cause rust. Our van is 4 years old and already there were signs of water ingression. We didn’t want any more water entering the van, especially as insulation will be where the water can get in, so we opted to secure them with a neutral cure silicone sealant.
