The restaurant is located in Lal Darwaza area of Ahmedabad and famous as New Lucky Restaurant.
This place used to be a kabristan years ago. Rather than ripping out the kabars to make way for his restaurant, owner Krishnan Kutti chose not to disturb them and instead made sitting and eating arrangements at the space available between the spots.
New Lucky is more than 50 years old. Kutti Nair believes that the presence of these kabars has been great for business.
Around a dozen of them lay inside the restaurant and have been sealed off by iron grills.
They themselves, green in color and shin length in height are said to belong to the relatives of a 16th century Sufi saint whose stone lies nearby.
Every morning, when the shutters of the restaurant are pulled up, waiters spend some time wiping them and decorating them with fresh flowers.
The Restaurant has now become a popular hang-out for both young and old.
