Two Lancaster, Ohio, police officers rescued a woman who was trapped inside her burning home on Wednesday, May 2.
Police released body-camera footage that shows the officers breaking a window to assist the woman out of the house and carrying her to the street. The video also includes the woman’s original 911 call telling police she was trapped in her bedroom.
Police said the elderly woman was unable to free herself because of the smoke in the house and her health condition. The family dog was also missing as the woman was taken from the house, but it was later seen fleeing the residence. The officers and the woman suffered minor injuries, and the dog survived.
