National Film Awards row Prez Kovind attends all functions for max one hour, clarifies Prez office

There were reports of chaos from the rehearsal ceremony for the 65th National film awards, on Wednesday, May 2, after the awardees who had gathered at the Rashtrapati Bhawan were reportedly informed that President Ram Nath Kovind would only be presenting 11 awards. Soon after everyone was seated the Additional Director General of the directorate of film festivals Chaitanya Prasad proceeded to make some announcements. He said there was going to be some deviation from previous years and awards will be given out in two parts. For the past 64 years, it is the president who has always presented the national awards. And this year also the email sent out to the recipients clearly stated that the president would be giving away the awards.
