In October last year, Bengaluru’s pothole-riddled roads had claimed five lives in less than a fortnight and shockingly, the Bengaluru Development Minister dismissed these incidents as mere accidents. The minister in question - K J George - a key aide of Chief Minister Siddaramaih, had said that some people are trying to paint a wrong picture and spread false news by linking all the deaths to killer potholed roads. Even as Bengaluru continues bear the brunt in poll-bound karnataka, George has now conviniently shifted the goal post and pinned the blame on reckless and rash driving for the pothole deaths. In a freewheeling chat with NewsX, george - who had urged BBMP officials to fix 9000 potholes in week in October last year, tried his best to shrug off the responsibility and turn the compass.
