Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden celebrated Mai Thai the elephant’s 45th birthday by giving her presents and bamboo sticks on May 1.
A clip shared to the zoo’s Facebook page shows Mai Thai chomping down on some bamboo sticks and showing interest in a number of presents in front of an excited crowd at the zoo’s elephant reserve.
Mai Thai can be seen eating a cardboard box, which won’t cause her harm, according to a zoo employee speaking during the clip.
