A filmer captured a breathtaking moment when a family of elephants held up traffic as they casually crossed a road in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

In the video, two adult elephants and their two children are seen crossing the road as awe-inspired drivers stop to watch the spectacle just before sunset.

The four pachyderms casually stroll across to the opposite field before disappearing into the jungle.

Onlooker Nonthiya Yai Nong, who captured the rare sight, said it was a “once-in-a-lifetime moment.”

"It was really good luck to see the elephants from the jungle so close,” she said. “They were very relaxed. They were not concerned with all the humans watching.”

''It was a beautiful moment, and I feel very privileged to have been so close to the elephants. This is something we are lucky to see once in a lifetime.''

Park officials at the the Khao Yai National Park, which covers more than 2,000 square kilometers, said the elephants were an adult male, an adult female, a juvenile and one calf.

The footage was filmed on February 11, 2018.
