The Concentrations - Man On The Spot

Paul Bernard, Anthony Jawahall and I co-wrote this wonderful song, "Man On The Spot", which sounds like a classic Blackpool Mecca floorfiller. The type that made the entire club run onto the floor from every nook and cranny. The Concentrations are a four-piece classic male soul harmony group. Members include Paul Bernard, Anthony Jawahall, Coree Richards and Anton Gordon, they gathered especially for the brand new album, "Northern Soul 2008". They did it as a tribute to legendary soul groups like The Four Tops, The Contours and The Temptations. "Man On The Spot" bounces along with so much power, from the energetic falsetto vocals, to the bass vocal, that it should have you racing to the dance floor immediately. Paul has the Dennis Edwards type gruff voice and Anthony has the Eddie Kendricks type falsetto. A classic dance sound, flowing straight from its 60's heritage. Try staying still to this, if you can! So the track comes from my album "Northern Soul 2008" which consists of twenty four brand new 2008 songs by soul and disco legends and four extra bonus tracks too. The work that we all put into this project is quite staggering and I hope it will break down the barriers between the older Northern Soul stalwarts and a new generation, who need younger acts, who still produce the same vibe we all witnessed forty years ago for Motown's glory years. Listen, watch and give new Northern Soul a chance this time.
