In a social media post this week, Jan Koum, the billionaire co-founder of WhatsApp, confirmed he is leaving Facebook, which bought his company in 2014. According to The Washington Post, Facebook is currently looking to weaken WhatsApp encryption and collect users' personal information — moves that have in turn caused friction between its executives and Koum. In his post, Koum, who has a seat on Facebook's board of directors, said, "I'm taking some time off to do things I enjoy outside of technology, such as collecting rare air-cooled Porsches, working on my cars and playing ultimate frisbee."
