South Korean President Moon Jae-in has talked over the phone to the three sailors released by pirates near the West African coast, and with the captain of the ship that rescued them.
The President commended the captain of the warship Munmu the Great for his and the crew's rescue efforts, and thanked the Navy on behalf of the Korean people.
He also talked to each of the three abducted seamen, thanking them for their patience and trust in the Korean government.
The three South Korean sailors had been kept captive by unidentified pirates for 32 days before their rescue last Friday.
