Thousands of people gathered at Toronto’s Mel Lastman Square on Sunday, April 30, to remember the victims of the Toronto van attack that killed 10 and injured 16.

Mourners began the vigil with a march along Yonge Street, retracing the path of the van, which targeted pedestrians on one of Toronto’s busiest streets on April 23.

Alek Minassian, arrested at the scene, had been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and 13 counts of attempted murder, Global News reported. He might face three additional counts of attempted murder at his next court hearing on May 10, the National Post quoted Toronto Police Inspector Bryan Bott as saying.
