The head of the UN aid agency says eight billion U.S. dollars needs to be raised to help Syrians affected by the country's civil war.
Mark Lowcock made the remark Tuesday at a two-day donor conference in Brussels, warning that certain aid programs would have to be cut back if the funds weren't forthcoming.
UN and EU officials gathered at the conference hope to do better than the six billion dollars pledged last year
Over the last two years, the UN aid agency has only managed to raise half of the money needed to help Syria.
