Former President Park Geun-hye faces another trial today, this time for the charges of accepting bribes, causing government losses, and embezzlement.
Unlike her past trials, this is a formal trial that requires her presence.
However, Park, who has boycotted all of her previous hearings, has refused to turn up to the trial.
She denied the charges and declined to show up because of her health problems.
Due to her absence, the trial will take place with only the prosecutor and the court-appointed lawyer required to be present.
Park also faces her first hearing on the additional offense of misuse of National Intelligence Service special activity costs.
