We begin this morning at the big Senate confirmation hearing in Washington.
President Trump's pick for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has told a room-full of U.S. senators that Trump is preparing for a summit in May with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, to discuss the regime's nuclear weapons program.
Pompeo, who still serves as CIA director while his awaits confirmation,... said "no one is under any illusions" that the summit will achieve a comprehensive agreement on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,... but he's optimistic it can (quote) "set us down the course to achieve a diplomatic outcome that America and the world so desperately need."
Pompeo, who is considered hawkish on U.S. national security,... also said he won't push for regime change in North Korea.
