ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND — One rotation from Aberdeen's massive new 8.8 megawatt wind turbine can generate 24 hours of power for one house.
According to Inhabitat, the first of 11 massive wind turbines have been installed near Aberdeen on the Scottish coast. When complete it's believed they will generate 70% of Aberdeen's energy needs, displacing 134,128 tonnes of CO2.
Each turbine is 191 meters tall, nearly double the size of the Statue of Liberty.
The blades measure 80 meters in length, and together with the rotor, make for a circumference larger than that of the London Eye.
