Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ has Already Gone Gold (Technically) The rapper’s first studio album was eligible for a Gold nomination the minute it dropped on Friday. According to Forbes, the Gold nomination is less of a result of her album and more of a result of her hit single, "Bodak Yellow". When Cardi B released the single over the summer, it became a Multi-Platinum hit, selling over 5 million units. And because the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) equates every 1 album sale for every 10 track units sold, Cardi B’s album technically already had 500,000 album sales before it even debuted. Not too shabby.
