President Trump will reportedly skip this year's White House Correspondents' Association dinner.

President Trump will reportedly skip this year's White House Correspondents' Association dinner event on April 28.
"The White House has informed us that the president does not plan to participate in this year's dinner but that he will actively encourage members of the Executive Branch to attend and join us as we celebrate the First Amendment," the White House Correspondents' Association said in a statement. "In keeping with tradition, press secretary Sarah Sanders also will represent the administration at the head table."
Trump skipped last year's dinner as well "amid his and his press office's antagonistic relationships with the news media," notes the New York Times.
The president instead decided to hold a campaign-style rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
"They are gathered together for the White House Correspondents' Dinner...without the President," Trump said at the time. "And I could not possibly be more thrilled than to be more than 100 miles away from the Washington swamp, spending my evening with all of you, and with a much, much larger crowd and much better people."
