Amnesty law could reignite Thai conflict

A law that could annul charges against former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, allowing him to return from self-imposed exile has brought protesters out onto the streets of Bangkok and has potentially rekindled the conflict between pro-Thaksin "red shirts" and pro-Democrat "yellow shirts" that saw nine weeks of battles in the capital in 2010. The FT's Michael Peel reports from the protest in Bangkok's Silom Road.
