Trump: 'The Caravan Is Largely Broken Up'

President Trump on Thursday posted another tweet on border security.

President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday and commented on reports that the caravan of Central American migrants will end its journey in Mexico and not continue to the US border.
"The Caravan is largely broken up thanks to the strong immigration laws of Mexico and their willingness to use them so as not to cause a giant scene at our Border. Because of the Trump Administrations actions, Border crossings are at a still UNACCEPTABLE 46 year low. Stop drugs!" Trump tweeted.
While the group consisting of over 1,100 people is expected to disperse in Mexico City, the Washington Post reports many Central Americans still plan to proceed to the U.S. border.
"Pueblo Sin Fronteras caravan or People Without Borders has organized the event for years," CNN notes. "The caravan has always dispersed into separate, smaller groups at some point along the journey."
As the reports of the group moving through Mexico made headlines in the past days, Trump responded with a flurry of tweets.
"The big Caravan of People from Honduras, now coming across Mexico and heading to our 'Weak Laws' Border, had better be stopped before it gets there. Cash cow NAFTA is in play, as is foreign aid to Honduras and the countries that allow this to happen. Congress MUST ACT NOW!" Trump wrote in one of the tweets.
And on Thursday, the White House announced that Trump has authorized the deployment of the National Guard to the southern border aimed at  supporting "the Border Patrol in its mission to protect our country and stop the stream of illegal immigration."
