Unlike other national waterways, the Gulf community did not have a full assessment of its natural wildlife and habitats at the time of the oil rig accident. The FT's Christopher Booker reports that while environmental groups say the long-delayed BP trial has delayed their recovery efforts, a resolution will allow them to release their data on the ongoing environmental impact on the Gulf of Mexico.
