June 6th, 2011: Rio de Janeiro is in a race against the clock to prepare to host both the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016. The city which has seen drastic decline since the capital was relocated to Brazilia 50 years ago, is desperate to clean up its image by taking control of the sprawling crime-ridden favelas or slums, and rejuvenate the centre and it's economy.
