Govt frames guidelines to blacklist journalists; Smriti Irani leads counter; 'Who'll decide', asks Cong

A day after Govt amended guidelines for journalists accreditation stating that is a journalist is found to have created or propogated fake news, the journalists acrreditation will be suspended or permanently cancelled, a bitter political fight has now erupted. While Congress leader Ahmed Patel has questioned the Govt's latest move, asking if it was aimed at preventing journalists from reporting news uncomfortable to the establishment.. Union minister Smriti Irani has launched a fierce counter, saying the Press Council of India and the News Broadcasters Association, both of which are not controlled by the government, will ascertain whether a news is fake or not.
