Pickles is only 3 months old himself, and he tends to be voracious, whiny, and selfish [well, he's still only a kid himself :o) ].
But he has observed the other 3 adults feeding baby Jojo, & seeing them do this, or being close to Jojo, seems to kick in the caregiving instinct even with a very young male.
Bluey, the oldest male, is by far the most attentive and always takes the night shift on the nest.
