MoS VK Singh to bring back mortal remains of 39 Indians, Punjab CM urges for peaceful arrival of bodies

Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh will return with the mortal remains of the 39 Indians, killed in the war-torn country of Iraq. Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also appealed to the protesters to ensure that mortal remains of the Iraq victims are allowed to be transported to their native villages without any impediment. He has also directed the police to provide strict security for the same. Earlier this month, Sushma Swaraj had told Parliament that as many as 40 Indians were abducted by terror group ISIS from Mosul in Iraq in June 2014, but one of them escaped posing as a Muslim from Bangladesh.
