Hawaii Senator Is Tired Of Student Loan Debt Strangling The American Dream

Student loan debt in the US has doubled since the start of the Great Recession.
It's stopped people from preparing for the future and pursuing their dreams.
If tuition had stayed at 2001 levels, 360,000 more Americans could've bought homes.
Instead, they're forking over huge chunks of their wages to pay off giant student loans.
In response, Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) introduced the Debt Free College Act last week.
