SARDINE CANYON, UTAH — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper is lucky to be alive after being struck by a car on a highway.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, Sgt. Cade Brenchley was hit by a vehicle during a snowstorm on Sunday March 25. Footage of the accident shows him being thrown into the air during the accident, and bystanders later coming to his aid.
Amazingly, Brenchley survived the ordeal, but he didn't escape unscathed. The 13-year veteran officer was treated for broken ribs and a broken scapula.
