The great Caribbean post-colonial writer Wilson Harris died earlier this month, aged 96. Tariq pays tribute to Harris in this week’s episode, introducing a film based on one of his novels Da Silva, Da Silva, that Tariq produced for TV in the 1980s.
Wilson Harris was born in New Amsterdam, British Guiana in 1921. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1959 where he spent the rest of his life and wrote 16 novels.
