Thousands of people took to the streets of Barcelona on March 25 to protest the arrest of former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont.
Puigdemont was arrested in Germany after a visit to Finland, while making his way back to Belgium where he had been living in self-imposed exile.
La Vanguardia reported that almost 100 people were injured in demonstrations in Barcelona, where riot police used force to disperse the crowds.
