Eric Trump, son of President Trump, offered support for shooting guns in a comment about his personal experiences with the activity.  "Shooting was a big part of my youth - it kept me away from drinking/drugs, taught me safety, discipline, [concentration] and so many other positive life lessons," he wrote in a Monday tweet. "It has brought generations of children together with parents, grandparents and other role models." While his experiences with shooting appear to have been positive ones, many disagreed with him on social media.
"Killing endangered animals provides positive life lessons? Nice it kept you away from drugs and drinking, but could you not have just taken up baseball?" wrote one Twitter user. Trump's comments come just days before students around the nation will participate in the 'March for Our Lives,' an event led by the survivors of the February 14 fatal mass shooting at Parkland, Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.  The main march will take place in Washington, D.C. on March 24, and additional protests are expected to occur across the country, notes Vox News. Participants and supporters are advocating for gun law reform that will aid in preventing future armed attacks in schools.
