A cat stuck in a tree is a familiar backyard tale, but not when that cat is a mountain lion. Homeowners in Grand Junction, Colorado, called in wildlife officials on March 11 when the big cat seen in this video was found hanging out.
Katy Basinger recorded the footage.
Colorado Parks And Wildlife officials were called to the scene, Katy told Storyful, and found the mountain lion on top of the tree. “The CPW officer climbed the tree in order to help the lion … to land in the safety tarp below to prevent injury,” she said in a message. “The mountain lion, a yearling, weighing approximately 60 pounds, was tagged and then will be relocated.” Credit: Katy Basinger via Storyful
