In an ungainly sight, cameras caught US President Brack Obama chewing gum during the Republic Day parade, Delhi.
However, this is not the first time that Obama has been spotted chewing gum during an important function. Though there was a lot of commentary on social media on his chewing gum at a formal ceremony.
Obama’s three-day visit to India is aimed at improving relations between the world's two largest democracies. He is the first American leader to be honored as chief guest at the country’s annual Republic Day parade.
President Obama reportedly quit his smoking habit in 2011, but still relies on gum to fight Nicotine urges.
He has been caught in similar situations munching on the substance. Last November, at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China, he was seen chewing the gum, causing a stir online. He was also caught on camera popping a piece of the popular gum in July 2013 at a White House event honoring former President George H.W. Bush.
