White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders reportedly angered President Trump by revealing a bit too much during Wednesday’s press briefing
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders reportedly made President Trump "upset" by revealing a bit too much during Wednesday's press briefing, notes CNN. When answering questions about Trump's alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels and the $130,000 payout she reportedly received, Sanders commented, "This case has already been won in arbitration." Daniels, whose given name is Stephanie Clifford, has filed a lawsuit against the president. It asserts that "the nondisclosure agreement that accompanied the $130,000 payment was void because Mr. Trump never signed it," reports the New York Times. CNN notes that Sanders' mention of arbitration gives significant weight to the existence of the arrangement in question and Trump's involvement with Daniels. "POTUS is very unhappy," an unnamed source told the news network. "Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday." Sanders' comment also inspired media outlets to learn more about what the arbitration win involved. Soon after, the New York Times reported, "President Trump's lawyer secretly obtained a temporary restraining order last week to prevent a pornographic film star from speaking out about her alleged affair with Mr. Trump, according to legal documents and interviews." According to the publication, the order was granted "by an arbitrator in California." Its validity is being challenged by Daniels' attorney.
