Education Secretary Betsy DeVos paid a visit on Wednesday morning to the Parkland, Florida school that, just three weeks ago, was under a deadly attack by a gunman, reports the Miami Herald. Students, including some of the more well-known activists at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, reacted to the news of the appearance in tweets that ranged from indifferent to decidedly displeased. Emma González wrote on Tuesday, "Good thing I was already planning on sleeping in tomorrow," and Sarah Chadwick commented, "Literally no one asked for this."  While there was apparently talk of student protests, a tweet suggested an alternative approach. "I've decided that I don't think we should walk out, ignore her, or block her from entering," the post read. "I want to talk to her. I want her to understand what we're feeling. However, I doubt we'll be able to discuss anything with her. She'll probably give us her sympathies and leave."  According to one student's account, that's pretty close to how the visit went down. "Betsy DeVos came to my school, talked to three people, and pet a dog. This is incase the press tries to say something else later," she said via Twitter.
