MLA enters assembly with used grenade; CM intervenes, terms it a 'security threat'

Congress Legislator enters Kerala assembly with used grenades sparks debate. Congress MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan came to the assembly today with a used grenade. Showing the grenade to the speaker he said that the grenades used to disburse youth congress protesters during the last week fight with police was old beyond its expiry date. This created huge uproar in the assembly as LDF legislators said that members were not supposed to bring fire arms inside the assembly.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan too intervened as he said that it's a huge security threat if it was a live grenade. Thiruvanchoor later handed over the grenade to assembly officials.

Congress MLA Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan came to the Kerala Assembly carrying a used tear gas shell. Showing it to the Speaker, he said the tear gas shells used to disburse Youth Congress protesters last week were beyond their expiry date, & police is still using them.
