Grass Fire Prompts Emergency Evacuation in Southwest Nebraska

At least one house was destroyed and several people were treated for burns and smoke inhalation following a grass fire in McCook, Nebraska, on March 6.

Homes and schools were evacuated in the northern part of the city.

A report in the Lincoln Journal Star said the fire spread rapidly with gusts over 50 mph.
