Kantiger Liedermacher-Rock unter rauer Oberfläche – mit Sehnsucht im Kern, aber vorgetragen von drei schlagfertigen Kindsköpfen: Dafür stehen Treptow. Am Rande des gleichnamigen Berliner Viertels liegt ruhig und wie aus der Zeit gefallen das Studioschiff, auf dem sich Philipp (Gesang, Gitarre), Schuwe (Bass) und Lukas (Schlagzeug) regelmäßig einschließen. In dessen Inneren haben sie nicht nur ihren Hang zu handgefertigter Gitarrenmusik entdeckt, sondern auch ein paar essentielle Schaffensregeln für die Band: Weniger ist mehr. Reduktion statt Überfluss. Und die Leitformel lautet: "Besser selbst als gar nicht". Unter diesem Titel veröffentlichen Treptow am 15. September 2017 ihr selbst produziertes Debütalbum. „Licht der Stadt“ ist die zweite Single des Albums und eine Hommage an Berlin.
Hard and rough rock music meets soft core. The Berlin based band Treptow stands for German-language music that gets under your skin. Philipp (vocals, guitar), Schuwe (bass) and Lukas (drums) usually are rehearsing in their studio based on an old ship on the Spree river. The band's name was derived from Berlin’s eastern district of the same name, where the ship is located. Inside, they discovered not only their penchant for handmade guitar music, but also a few essential rules of creation for the band: Less is more. Reduction instead of abundance. Under the title "Besser selbst als gar nicht" (better do it yourself than nothing at all) Treptow released their self-produced debut album on September 15,2017. The song "Licht der Stadt“ (the city’s light) is the second single and a tribute to Berlin.
